This is your weekly reset button. Your escape from screens, stress, and routine. Your place to reconnect with nature — and yourself.
No experience needed. No pressure. Just a warm fire, good company, and real skills.
What Is Adult Forest School?
Forest School for Adults is a multi-activity bushcraft and outdoor skills programme, held weekly at our woodland site. Every session blends creativity, learning, craft, relaxation, and a sense of community.
Think of it as part bushcraft club, part creative workshop, part woodland therapy designed just for grown-ups.
Each week, you’ll learn something new while working on projects at your own pace. It’s hands-on, grounding, and incredibly satisfying.
What You’ll Learn
Our sessions rotate through a rich mix of outdoor skills, including:
Advanced Fire Lighting
- Natural tinders, Ferro rods & steel strikers, Bow drill/friction fire, Fire management & campfire cooking
Long-Term Bushcraft Projects
Learn traditional skills while building practical woodland structures:
- Long-term survival shelters, Bushcraft furniture & camp seating, Rope lashings & natural bindings, Pot hangers, camp gadgets & tool stations, Whittling & Green Woodwork
Perfect for calming the mind while creating something useful:
- Spoons, spatulas, mallets & tent pegs, Kuksa-style cups, Knife safety & carving techniques, Understanding wood, grain & seasonality
Target Sports
Fun, skill-building and confidence-boosting:
- Archery, Axe throwing, Air rifle shooting, Primitive weapons
Campfire Cooking & Outdoor Food Skills
- Dutch oven stews, Ember-cooked breads, Fire-side skillet meals, Foraging teas & simple wild foods
Wilderness Skills
- Map reading & navigation, Natural cordage, Water purification basics, Shelter site selection, Tracking & nature awareness
Every session is supported by experienced instructors who keep it safe, fun, and relaxed.
A Weekly Woodland Ritual
Each session includes:
- A slow, warm welcome
- Gather around the fire, enjoy a hot drink, settle in.
- A guided skill or project
- Learn something new each week — tools, techniques, crafts, or bushcraft.
- Time to work on your own project in your own time
- Carving, building, crafting, practising fire lighting — whatever you’re into.
- Social time around the fire
- Chat, unwind, switch off, and enjoy the woodland calm.

When & Where
- Sessions run weekly on Wednesday evenings 7pm-9pm at our beautiful woodland site.
- You’ll receive full joining instructions, kit lists, and directions when you book.
- Dress for the weather.
- Everything else is provided.
